This set of models is recommended only for expert modelers with previous 3D-printed product experience. Support removal is very difficult. Exterior pipes are very fragile.
Scale: 1/250
Set includes 4 funnels.
Recommended for:
- Amati 1/250 scale RMS Titanic
- Hachette 1/250 scale RMS Titanic
These accurately shaped and highly detailed models represent the four funnels of Olympic-class White Star liner RMS Titanic. They are not suitable for models of sistership RMS Olympic. Olympic's funnels had a different exterior pipe configuration.
The funnels are scaled from scans of Harland and Wolff builder's plans.
Features:
- Seamless smoke pipe uptakes, all the way through the funnel.
- Accurate, extensive rivet detail, properly sized, numbered and located, with 15 vertical rows of rivets.
- Accurate funnel "stay eyes", also called "shroud brackets", properly shaped and located. The "stays" are a set of 12 cables, also called "shrouds", attached to the exterior of each funnel. The stays extend outward and downward from each funnel to the deck to stabilize and strengthen the funnels. The real stays were attached to "eyes" which were brackets bolted the funnel.
- Accurate position of reinforcing bands.
- Accurately sized and configured exterior vertical water and steam pipe sections, integrated with the funnels in their proper location.
- Large boiler steam escape pipes, 17" scale diameter forward pipe, 15" scale diameter aft pipe.
- Whistle steam supply pipe with accurately bent base.
- Integrated steam loops.
- Integrated single-pipe and double-pipe "P"-shaped tank air vent/overflows with drain cups, the real pipes were very small, just 2.5 inches in diameter.
- The long, horizontal pipe sections to the tank room roof are omitted. Please use your kit parts or other rods or tubes.
- Accurately shaped triple whistles scaled from photos of a recovered set from the wreck.
- One row of painters sheaves as per photos.
- Accurate funnel cap interior with structural girders and braces per H&W drawings.

Adjustment of the raised funnel locator areas of the kit's deckhouse roofs may be needed for best fit. These scale model funnels are not 3D-printed copies of any plastic, resin, wood or paper card model kit’s parts. These funnels may not be the same size and shape of your plastic, resin, wood or paper card model kit’s parts.
Notice: this set of models is intended for expert modelers. Support removal, especially from each funnel's cap's internal braces and exterior pipes, is very difficult. Exterior pipes are somewhat fragile. A very sharp cutting instrument such as "sprue nippers" or photo-etch craft saws are recommended to remove the supports. Heating your cutting instrument may help. Care is recommended during handling. Click here for support removal, cleaning and painting advice.
