- and more!
This set of model anchors is patterned on the US Navy's standard ~13,500 pound anchors first used on heavy cruisers of the Pensacola class, Northampton class, New Orleans class, Portland class, USS Wichita CA-45, Baltimore class, and Des Moines class, and USS Long Beach CGN-9, fit to ships from before World War Two through the present day.
Anchors of this size are likely to have been carried by Brooklyn, St. Louis, and Cleveland class light cruisers, and Spruance class DDGs. They are probably fit to Arleigh Burke class DDGs, and Ticonderoga class CGs in service today.
Assembly instructions: remove all parts from the sprue, insert the shank through the bottom of the anchor. Do not glue the shank to the anchor. The shank will then swivel freely.
These parts are designed for a tight fit. While producing exceptional detail, acrylic plastic is extremely brittle and breaks easily. Trim parts, if necessary, rather than force them into place.
