Scale: 1/350.  Note: this model is designed to fit Blue Water Navy and Yankee Modelworks resin USS West Virginia BB-48 kits. Those kits measure slightly smaller than scale, likely caused by resin shrinkage during curing.

A set of turrets precisely scaled to fit this 3D-printed model and the Blue Water Navy and Yankee Modelworks resin kits is available separately.

Designed specifically to fit:

  • Blue Water Navy 1/350 scale USS West Virginia BB-48  (1941)
  • Yankee Modelworks 1/350 scale USS West Virginia BB-48  (1941)

This 3D-printed model represents the boat deck and casemate, officially known as the "superstructure deck", of Colorado class battleship USS West Virginia BB-48 as she appeared at Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941.

Features:

  • subtle raised discs marking locations for 5"/25 cal. anti-aircraft guns (guns not included).
  • accurately shaped, detailed and positioned 5" gun ammunition hoists.

The model was designed from official US Navy Booklet of General Plans drawings of the ship prepared by Puget Sound Navy Yard dated 30 November 1939 with details adjusted to match 1941 to 1942-era photos.  The model is NOT a 3D-printed copy of any plastic or resin model kit's parts.  Therefore, the model may be sized and shaped differently from your kit's parts.  Some adjustment to your kit's parts or other aftermarket parts such as photo-etch may be necessary for best fit.

A forward superstructure is available separately (click here).
