This accurately scaled and detailed model represents the standard metal 75-gallon drop tank cut and extended in the field to carry 100 gallons of fuel. This jettisonable fuel tank was specifically intended to be carried under the belly of P-47 Thunderbolt fighter aircraft. It was used operationally by US and Brazilian forces in Italy during World War 2.
Being a field-expedient modification to existing 75-gallon drop tanks, there were variations of the basic design. This model represents a common tank with raised filler cap offset to the left side.
This is an original product design, not a 3D-printed copy of any plastic kit's or resin parts.
The model has two mounting holes, 1.0 mm in diameter, 7.5 mm apart. If you intend to mount this tank to a Tamiya 1/48 scale P-47D kit, enlarge the holes to 2.0 mm to fit Tamiya tank rack part B8.
These parts are made of acrylic plastic. Acrylic plastic does not behave like injection-molded polystyrene plastic or other resins. Glues for polystyrene plastic, like "Testors Liquid Cement" or tube cement, will not work with acrylic plastic. Cyanoacrylate (CA) "super glue" is recommended.
