Scale 1/600
Recommended to help build a Cold War-era Baltimore class heavy cruiser from:
- Aurora 1/600 scale USS St. Paul CA-73 (1962 release)
- Aurora 1/600 scale USS St. Paul CA-73 (1972 release)
These 3D-printed parts are intended to help you convert your World War Two-era Baltimore class heavy cruiser model kit to either USS Saint Paul CA-73 or USS Los Angeles CA-135 as they appeared during the Vietnam War.
A forward superstructure including enclosed bridges is available separately.
These parts are designed to represent the four protected fighting positions, known as "gun tubs", for dual-gun 3"/50 cal. mounts. Two of the tubs feature angled, rear corners. The angled corner provides space for the flag lockers of the forward superstructure (available separately). Subtle raised disks indicate the location of the 3"/50 cal. mounts. 3"/50 cal. mounts are not included.
Depending on which 1/350 Baltimore class model ship kit you have, minor to significant adjustment of the plastic kit parts may be necessary for best fit.
Overall dimensions of this design are based on official US Navy drawings of sistership USS Los Angeles CA-135 with details adjusted to match high-resolution photographs of USS St. Paul. Copies of these plans can be obtained from The Floating Drydock (click here).
Assembly instructions are not provided with this product when shipped to you. Please study the images shown in the carousel on this webpage to learn where each part goes, as well as online references such as photographs of USS Saint Paul CA-73 found on NavSource (click here).
