This model represents the boat deck and casemate, officially known as the "superstructure deck",  of Pennsylvania-class battleship USS Arizona BB-39 as she appeared in 1941.  The model is intended to replace inaccurately shaped and poorly detailed boat deck and casemate parts found in plastic kits.
 
Features:
Overall dimensions and features scaled from official US Navy shipyard construction drawings obtained from the US National Archives.
Accurately shaped deck, vents, and splinter shields.
Accurate asymmetric splinter shielding configuration.  Splinter shields are not mirrored port and starboard.
Detailed incinerator.
Subtle plank detail with outer waterways.
Subtle recesses for forward superstructure and funnel, available separately.
Recess for funnel is an accurate ellipse, not an incorrect oval with slab sides, and matches the footprint of the Model Monkey-designed funnel available separately.
Doors of the correct 3-bar type.
Skylights, hatches, ready service ammuntion lockers and ammunition hoists accurately sized and located on the boat deck and within the casemate.
Accurate positioned portholes (properly called "airports").
Accurate vegetable locker bulkhead louvers.
Subtle, raised bases for 5"/25 cal. anti-aircraft guns (guns not included).
Separate, large deck vents.  Vent bottoms are uniquely keyed to aid in positioning during assembly.
Accurate antenna trunks.
Accurate fire hose configuration.
Accurately located interior bulkheads surrounding the 5"/51 cal. anti-ship cannon stations (guns not included).  Interior bulkheads include ammunition hoist and door detail.
Integrated barbette for 14"/45 cal. triple-gun Turret No. 2 (turrets available separately).  Barbette includes accurate footrail and handrail detail.
 
Notice: this model was designed from scans of the real USS Arizona's shipyard contruction drawings for maximum accuracy.  Compared to the corresponding parts found in your plastic kit, this 3D-printed model may be differently sized and shaped.  Significant modifications to your plastic kit may be required for best fit.  Other aftermarket products designed to fit the inaccurately shaped and sized parts in your plastic kit, such as wood decks, may not fit this 3D-printed model.
