This pair of models represents the Cold War-era / Desert Storm-era, seven-sided "square back shield"-type configuration of the Mark 38 Main Battery Fire Control Directors fit to modernized Iowa-class battleships as they appeared in the 1990s.

This 3D-printed model was designed from official US Navy drawings.  It is scaled to match the dimensions of the real director.
