Nameplates feature raised lettering and a decorative rope border.
Fonts used:
- "Arial", an easy to read and easy to paint font for most nameplates (USS Arizona BB-39, etc.).
- "Caladea", an elegant font, for many 18th and 19th Century ships (HMS Victory, etc.).
- "Fraktur", a traditional German font, for World War 1 and World War 2-era German ships (Bismarck, etc.).
- "Mincho", a traditional Asian font, for Japanese and Chinese characters (Yamato 大和, etc.).
- "Times New Roman" for Russian and other Cyrillic text (Адмира́л Кузнецо́в, etc.).

2.75" (7 cm) nameplates are recommended for:
- 1/700 scale ships
- 1/350 scale destroyers
- 1/72 and 1/48 scale aircraft
- 1/35 scale armored vehicles
4" (10 cm) nameplates are recommended for:
- 1/350 scale cruisers
- 1/32 scale fighter aircraft
- 1/25 scale armored vehicles
5" (12.7 cm) nameplate are recommended for:
- 1/350 scale battleships, aircraft carriers and ocean liners
- 1/200 scale destroyers
6" (15 cm) nameplates are recommended for:
- 1/200 scale battleships, cruisers and aircraft carriers
- 1/144 scale destroyers
- 1/125 scale destroyers
- 1/32 scale bombers
To help choose a length that will look good with your model, cut strips of paper of various lengths and hold them up to your model. Choose a length that looks good to you.
