Here is a downloadable scan of official US Navy drawings of the armored cruiser (second-class battleship) USS Maine ACR-1, 1895-1898.  The drawing was prepared by the US Navy Bureau of Construction and Repair, Washington D.C. dated 1 November 1887.  The scan shows the design of the ship's watertight doors.
 
The original scan was obtained from the US National Archives and Records Administration, College Park, Maryland.
