Here is a downloadable scan of a plan that may be of the American Revolutionary War frigate South Carolina (ex-L'Indien). South Carolina was a frigate built for the U.S. Commissioners in France, Benjamin Franklin, Silas Deane, and Arthur Lee, and served the Navy of South Carolina. The ship was designed by the French naval architect Jacques Boux. She was built by a private shipyard in Amsterdam and launched in February, 1778. The original drawing is in the possession of the Spain Ministry of Culture, National Historical Archive. The scan was graciously made available to the public by historian and master ship modeler P.C. Coker.
The drawing shows various views of the ship including the outboard profile, body plan, transom, etc.
