Here is a downloadable scan of official US Navy Contract Plans of the six never-completed South Dakota class battleships of 1919 (BB-49 through BB-54). The drawings were prepared by the US Navy Bureau of Construction and Repair, dated 25 April 1919. This scan includes the outboard profile view.
 
As a result of the Washington Naval Treaty of 1922, construction of the class was cancelled and the unfinished hulls were scrapped.

The class was intended to include:
USS South Dakota BB-49
USS Indiana BB-50
USS Montana BB-51
USS North Carolina BB-52
USS Iowa BB-53
USS Massachusetts BB-54
 
The original scan was graciously made available to the public by the San Francisco Maritime Park Association.
