Here is a downloadable scan of official US Navy Booklet of General Plans drawings of the Essex class aircraft carrier USS Essex CVA-9.  The drawings were originally prepared by Navy Yard Puget Sound, dated 22 May 1951, and updated by New York Naval Shipyard, dated 4 May 1960.
 
This set of 4 drawings includes the inboard profile and plan (overhead) views of the 4th deck, 1st and 2nd platforms, and hold.
 
Due to the size of the drawings, they have been compiled and compressed as a single *.zip file.
 
The original scan was obtained from the US National Archives and Records Administration, College Park, Maryland.
