Here is a downloadable scan of official US Navy Booklet of General Plans drawings of the Essex class aircraft carrier USS Essex CVA-9.  The drawings were originally prepared by Navy Yard Puget Sound, dated 22 May 1951, and updated by New York Naval Shipyard, dated 4 May 1960.
 
This set of 4 drawings includes the title sheet, ship's data, port outboard profile and starboard outboard profile views.
 
Due to the size of the drawings, they have been compiled and compressed as a single *.zip file.
 
The original scan was obtained from the US National Archives and Records Administration, College Park, Maryland.
