Ship Plans

Ship plans available here are scans of original, declassified shipyard drawings released to the public by US Government agencies, various national archives and museums, and other reputable public sources.  Most are general arrangement drawings such as US Navy "Booklets of General Plans" drawings held by the US National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) at College Park, Maryland.  Some come from the US Department of Transportation (USDoT) or from foreign national archives and museums.  These are plans of the actual ships, not plans of ship models.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the many NARA, USDoT, foreign archives, and museum staff members and generous private researchers who continue to dedicate considerable time, personal resources and effort to preserve and make these plans available to the public and to posterity.

These plans can be downloaded directly from NARA, USDoT, foreign archives, museums and other public sources.  But those collections are often vast and difficult for most people to access and search.  Other public sources may be difficult to find.  So, we have made a selection of plans of popular ship modeling subjects available here at no cost.
